Organic foods are healthier and safer than conventional foods according to several studies

Safer and healthier, but what about the toxic ones? Why not ask the other way around? Are foods from crops produced with large doses of chemicals worse for humans and the Planet than those produced organically? Below we leave you three studies that confirm that organic foods are healthier and safer than conventional foods.

1. Citizen's Good Practices Manual

Prepared by Ecologistas en Acción-Ciudad de Málaga, it explains that they are safer, the animals are not fed antibiotics or growth hormones are used; are respectful environmentally friendly, designed to be more sustainable, and are more healthy because they have higher levels of certain nutrients beneficial to health.

2. Food analysis

Published in the prestigious magazine British Journal of Nutrition, by the University of Newcastle, concludes that organic foods contain higher concentrations of antioxidants than conventional ones, and that in organic meat there are higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids, related to the reduction of heart diseases.

The study also concludes that organic crops have significantly lower levels of toxic heavy metals, such as cadmium, one of the three most common contaminants in food along with lead and mercury. According to it, the amount found in organic crops was almost 50% lower than that detected in conventional crops.

3. Eat well today, live better tomorrow (Planeta, 2017)

Written by a French doctor, Henri Joyeux, a nutritional oncologist. In its second chapter, The importance of organic farming in food provides a novel study that compares organic foods with their conventional counterparts.

These data are similar to the results of other studies already published, with data from the scientific works of Mª Dolores Raigón, PhD in Agricultural Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia and professor of agricultural chemistry, in her article Organic food is better, it offers more nutrients.

    And how much have those at Monsanto paid Smith-Spangler and the rest of the collaborators of the supposed investigation for saying such atrocities?
    Part of the pesticides, herbicides... pass into the body when we ingest them. If you do not treat your garden with these chemicals, your crops are free of them except for a tiny amount that unfortunately the air is responsible for spreading.
    But even if that were the case, just because of the difference in flavor that is brutal compared to those in the stores, I prefer to eat the vegetables from my garden a thousand times before the others that no longer taste like anything. A lot of fruit and vegetables treated so that they all have the same size and color, when those from the garden are of different sizes and tones, that is, natural as they should be and with a flavor that cannot be compared.
