We reduce our carbon footprint by investing in solar energy

One of the most important projects that we have developed this year has been the installation of photovoltaic panels on the roof of our factory in Las Ruedas de Ocón for self-consumption of solar energy. An important investment for a small company like ours that will allow us to save an average of 36,026 tons of CO2 per year!

Revert the global warming It is the main environmental challenge we face. The cornerstone in the fight against climate change and a alarming problem to which the international community is unable to remedy. According to the latest UN report, “The world can no longer postpone the radical actions necessary to reduce CO2 emissions if a climate catastrophe is to be avoided.”.

One of the most effective measures to achieve this objective, along with activities such as organic agriculture and livestock, is the use of clean energies. Aware of this and due to our commitment to the planet and the environment where we carry out our activity at Embutidos Luis Gil, we have invested in a photovoltaic installation for self-consumption that will allow us save an average of 36,026 tons of CO2 per year and almost 25% of electrical energy from the conventional network.

The installation is made up of 216 solar panels of 335 Wp highly efficient that produce 72.36 Kw of total power and a total energy of 100,914 Kw/h.

The technical project has been developed by the Riojan company Aresol and the investment has been possible thanks to the support of European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The installation has been at full capacity since May of this year and at the moment we could not be more satisfied with the results obtained.
