This fair has undoubtedly become a reference in the Iberian Peninsula in the organic food sector for its contribution to strengthening the sector by connecting professionals from all over the world with organic producers.
“We believe that Organic Food is an excellent showcase to publicize our sustainable agriculture, livestock and production project at a national and international level to potential distributors and points of sale.”comments Delia Gil, a member of the Gil family that owns the company.
As you know, Embutidos Luis Gil is one of the few Spanish meat companies that produces organic meats and sausages from ourown organic livestockof Duroc pigs raised in freedom in 'El Encinar', the ecological farm where we installed this project in the Ocón Valley (La Rioja) in the heart of the Biosphere Reserve 20 years ago. Our piglets live and grow at a slow pace, enjoying contact with nature and feeding on a diet composed of acorns, plants and roots of the oak forest, and organic feed that we make with organic cereal grown on the farm itself. As a result of this philosophy we obtainartisanal organic meats and sausagesof exquisite quality, respectful of the health of consumers and the environment and that also preserve the values oftraditional gastronomyof the area.
A project in which we combineanimal welfare, care and protection of the environment, biodiversity and soilsand the bet on anatural mode of productionand thesustainable development of rural areas. What has earned us thenational award 'Biosphere Reserve'in the category of 'Social and Sustainable Economic Development' of the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge for our environmental commitment and harmony with the Millennium Sustainable Development Goals.
