Organic Duroc pork born and raised on our organic farm 'El Encinar', in the Ocón Valley (La Rioja).
DUROC PIGS:
Our Duroc pigs are very rustic animals with a great capacity to adapt to the environment and a strong immune system.
Its meat is highly appreciated for its high infiltrated fat content and its juiciness, with more grain and a more intense flavor. It has a high level of proteins and vitamins, much higher than conventional meat. Its meat is very similar to that of the Iberian pig in terms of nutritional and organoleptic values, although it is less fat which makes it very interesting.
ACORN FEED AND ECOLOGICAL FEED:
The excellent qualities of the meat of Duroc pigs are enhanced by the way the animals are raised. Our pigs live freely on the 'El Encinar de Ocón' farm where from October to January they feed on acorns, roots and herbs.
This natural diet is complemented with organic cereal feed that we grow and prepare ourselves.
A diet free of antibiotics, genetically modified organisms and phytosanitary products.
